Premium Delaware ID — Polycarbonate card stock with laser-engraved data and portrait, ghost image in card window, UV-reactive hidden text and state imagery, microprinting, and OVD holographic elements that shift colors when tilted.
Our Delaware ID is built with layered security technology designed to match the genuine state-issued credential. Delaware released its current more secure card design in June 2018, with both old and new designs remaining in circulation through 2026.
Physical and Visual Security
Polycarbonate Card Stock: Made from layers that fuse together, making the card sound metallic or distinct when dropped and impossible to peel apart without destroying it.
Laser Engraving: Personal data and the main portrait are burned into the card layers with a laser, creating sharp, tactile, raised or sunken black-and-white etchings that cannot be easily copied by standard printers.
Ghost Image: A secondary, translucent or laser-indexed smaller photo of the cardholder is embedded in the card window as an extra check against photo swaps.
Light-Reactive and Micro-Features
Ultraviolet (UV) Ink: Hidden text, state outlines, or imagery glow brightly under blacklight conditions, invisible under normal daylight.
Microprinting: Extremely tiny text sequences hidden in borders or background designs that blur or look like solid lines when photocopied or printed on cheap equipment.
Optically Variable Devices (OVD): Holographic elements shift colors or patterns as you tilt the ID back and forth under a light source.

Nobody knows what Delaware looks like and that's a good thing
Okay so I got the Delaware ID because I go to school in PA and figured a DE license wouldn't raise any red flags. I was right. Used it at bars in Philly, at the shore in Rehoboth, even at a liquor store in Jersey. Never got questioned once. The microprinting is so tiny I can barely read it with my glasses on. These people are wizards.

OVD is a little dim
OVD is a little dim. like you really gotta tilt it to see the shift. id scans and works but for $110 i expected a little better on the holographic front. not bad just not perfect
